PARLIAMENT ALLOCATES 259 THOUSAND LEI TO FLOOD VICTIMS
Chisinau, July 9 ( INFOTAG ). On Friday, the Parliament approved the decision to allocate 259 thousand lei to flood victims of Nemteni and Cotul Morii villages from Hincesti raion.
Each MP from the Alliance for European Integration and three non-aligned deputies Vladimir Turcan, Ludmila Belcencova and Victor Stepaniuc provided 2,500 lei from their salaries. The total sum of 145 thousand lei was complemented by 114 thousand lei, saved by the Parliament on daily expenditures of Communist deputies which have not attended parliamentary and commission assemblies for four months.
"These 114 thousand lei are Parliament's money, not Communists', this is why we have the right to spend them. The Communists arbitrarily were trying to get this money beyond their wages", said Chairman of Parliamentary Commission on Economic Policy, Budget and Finances, Veaceslav Ionita.
Acting President and Parliament Speaker Mihai Ghimpu proposed to donate victims one of the four office cars of the Communist faction from the Parliament's garage. However, his idea is impossible to make real since there is no law that would permit doing that.
