The event will take place on the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau and is meant to bring the European Union closer to the Moldovan citizens, and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Е tefan FГјle will pay a visit to Chisinau to attend the event.

Europe Day is an occasion to celebrate common values, shared past, present and, above all, future. Europe Day is also an opportunity to bring European and Moldovan cultures closer through entertaining and educational activities and festivals, and to remember and rejoice in our common identity as Europeans.

For Europe Day, a European Village will be set up on the Great National Assembly Square. Starting from 1pm, the Embassies of the EU Member States will welcome citizens in about 50 tents, to present their tourist and business opportunities, hold cultural activities, distribute promotional materials, organize quizzes and communicate with the public.

EU-funded projects will also host tents to call attention on EU assistance to Moldova, and on how Moldovan citizens benefit from it.

The Embassies of the EU Member States will present the "Unity in Diversity" of European cuisines in their food tents, where guests are invited to taste traditional European food and drinks. A special participant of the food corner will be a kitchen truck from Italy, which will present traditional Italian food. Citizens will be also able to taste German, Belgian and Polish beer and Romanian and Turkish national cuisine.

Two Language Schools will offer citizens the opportunity to pick up key words and phrases in Bulgarian, Czech, German, French, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, English and Turkish. The EU Ambassador and high representatives of the EU member states' embassies will answer questions from the public within the debates on political and economic aspects of the EU-Moldova relations.

Europe Day celebrations will be opened by the EU and Moldovan officials who will address the public at 14.00 from the main stage.

At 19:30 the event will culminate in a concert by the Moldovan band Alternosfera and the Latvian band Brainstorm.
